Model Of King's Landing From Game Of Thrones Was Made With 7,600 Paper Cutouts

Tech Insider
How do you create King's Landing from paper? You start from the drawing board. Here's how Moleskine built the capital city of Game of Thrones. The notebook company created King's Landing entirely out of paper. The animation studio, Dadomani, built it piece by piece. The studio used 7,600 paper cutouts. They carefully constructed every turret, gear, and parapet in the Red Keep. They then surrounded it with the homes of the city. How did they make it move like the show's opening? Through careful stop-motion animation. They turned the gears and lowered towers frame-by-frame. Moleskine teamed up with HBO for a set of Game of Thrones notebooks. Each one features a different house's sigil.
