The app has produced countless memes involving VSCO Girls, Old Town Road, and Spooky Scary Skeletons. Even TikTok dance compilations have millions of views on YouTube. But its rise hasn't been seamless. TikTok has been criticized by US senators for censorship, privacy, and child safety. Because TikTok is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, there are concerns that TikTok might censor content that doesn't appease China. TikTok has stated that it handles moderation separately for different regions. So what's going on with TikTok?
